Yes and No. Good reviews doesnt always mean the company is good. Just like bad reviews doesnt always mean the company is bad. Reviews can be manipulated. Good and bad. I always suggest reading the bad reviews. See if the company has a trend of negative behavior. The company may have hundreds or thousands of positive reviews. Then you read thirty reviews of that company ripping people off. Do you listen to all the positive reviews over the bad ones? I say no. Having bad reviews saying the same thing shows a trend of bad practices. Reviews is just one of the many ways you should use to find a commercial or residential electrician.
Keep in mind there are bad customers also. Some people love drama and negitivity. Pay attention to who and why a bad review is written.
I can understand trying to find an electrician and getting frustrated when no one answers or calls back. Why would a company do that? There are a few reasons. One reason obviously is the electrical company is just too busy. Electrical work comes in waves based on things like economy and time of year. A company may be at their max work load at the time you call.
Electrical companies handle their incoming calls differently. Some hire a phone receptionist, some hire an answering service, and some take calls to their cell phones. Having a phone receptionist usually means a person will answer your call. Its generally just someone who can schedule an appointment and wont be able to answer any electrical questions. Smaller companies generally avoid having a phone receptionist to keep costs low.
Some companies use a answering service. Its basically voicemail but someone hopefully answers. I have tried answering services and found them to just add cost to my electrical business. They still miss calls and just take messages. Everything voicemail does for free.
I find as a small company taking calls and texts to my cell phone is the best way for me. There is a bad side to recieving calls this way. One is companies get a lot of spam calls.
